Discover more about Three Sisters walk

The Three Sisters Walk is a must-do experience in the Blue Mountains National Park, offering breathtaking views and a chance to connect with nature. The walk begins at Echo Point, where you'll find the Blue Mountains Visitor Information Centre, a great place to learn more about the area. From here, pass through the archway next to the visitor center to start the walk. The well-maintained path leads to several lookouts, each offering unique perspectives of the Three Sisters and the vast Jamison Valley. The first stop is often Spooners Lookout, followed by Oreades Lookout and Lady Game Lookout. The path is mostly concrete and gently sloping, making it accessible for wheelchairs and prams up to Oreades Lookout. Beyond this point, there are steps. For a closer look at the Three Sisters, descend a short but steep section of the Giant Stairway, an impressive structure with over 800 steps. This leads to Honeymoon Bridge, which connects to the first sister. The Three Sisters themselves are ancient sandstone formations, shaped by millions of years of erosion. According to Aboriginal legend, they represent three sisters from the Katoomba tribe who were turned to stone to protect them during a tribal war. Each sister stands at different heights, with Meehni being the tallest at 922m. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and the seasons, as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colours. The Three Sisters are also floodlit until around 11pm each evening looking simply spectacular set against the black background of the night sky.
