Walking
From the Byron Bay town center, head north along Jonson Street until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Shirley Street. Continue on Shirley Street until you reach the end, where it intersects with Pacific Parade. Turn left onto Pacific Parade and walk approximately 2.5 kilometers. You will pass by beautiful beaches and local cafes. Keep walking until you reach the Northern End of Pacific Parade, where you will find Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Byron Bay. Start at the Byron Bay town center and head north on Jonson Street. Upon reaching the roundabout, take the second exit onto Shirley Street. Follow Shirley Street until it ends at Pacific Parade. Turn left, and cycle along Pacific Parade for about 2.5 kilometers. Enjoy the scenic views of the beach as you ride until you arrive at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre at the Northern End.
Public Bus
To get to Lake Ainsworth using public transport, walk to the Byron Bay Bus Terminal located on Jonson Street. Look for the bus that goes towards Lennox Head. Board the bus and inform the driver that you wish to get off at the stop for Lake Ainsworth. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you get off the bus, walk a short distance towards the lake, which is located at the Northern End of Pacific Parade.
