Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from Victor Harbor, a popular base in the Fleurieu Peninsula. Head south on Ocean Street towards the South Coast Highway (Victor Harbor Road). Continue on this road for about 15 minutes (approximately 12 km) until you reach the signs for Port Elliot. Follow the signs to Port Elliot, then continue to the coast where you will find Horseshoe Bay. Look for parking options along the beachfront. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around AUD 2-5 per hour.

• Public Transport

  For public transportation, take the Adelaide Metro bus service from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. The bus departs from Adelaide Central Bus Station and takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Victor Harbor, transfer to the local bus service (Route 781) to Port Elliot. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Port Elliot, it is a short walk to Horseshoe Bay, following the coastal path. • Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Horseshoe Bay. There are bike paths from Victor Harbor to Port Elliot. The route is well-marked and offers scenic views along the way. It’s about a 7 km ride, taking around 30 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water. Parking for bikes is available at Horseshoe Bay, and there are no additional costs.

• Walking

  If you're already in Port Elliot, you can walk to Horseshoe Bay. The distance is approximately 1.5 km, which will take about 20-25 minutes on foot. Simply head towards the coastline from the town center, following the signs to the beach. This is a great way to enjoy the coastal scenery, and there are no costs involved.
