Discover more about Woomelang silo art trail

The Woomelang Silo Art Trail presents a delightful and intimate art experience in the heart of the Mallee region. Unlike the towering grain silos of the main Silo Art Trail, Woomelang features eight 'mini silos' – repurposed field bins – scattered throughout the town. These transportable containers, once essential for grain harvesting, have been transformed into canvases celebrating the region's endangered wildlife. In June 2020, seven talented artists, including Jimmy Dvate, Andrew J Bourke, and Kaff-eine, were commissioned to revitalize the town through art. Each artist brought their unique style to the project, creating a diverse and engaging collection of murals. The artworks raise awareness about the importance of protecting vulnerable species such as the Malleefowl, Spotted-Tailed Quoll, and Lined Earless Dragon. Exploring the Woomelang Silo Art Trail is an easy and enjoyable way to discover the town. The trail is easily walkable, with a map available at the Woomelang General Store to guide visitors. The mini silos are located within the town, making it a perfect outing for families, solo travelers, and art enthusiasts. Woomelang itself offers a glimpse into rural Australian life, with attractions like the Woomelang Shearing Shed, constructed from flattened egg tins during World War II, and the nearby Cronomby Tanks, a free camping and recreation area.
