If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the Mount Field National Park Visitor Centre. Head southeast on Lake Fenton Road, then turn left onto Gordon River Road. Continue for about 3 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to Shoobridge Track, which is a gravel road. Follow Shoobridge Track for approximately 1.5 kilometers, where you will find parking areas available. From the parking area, the Octopus Tree is a short, easy walk through the forest.

For those using public transportation, first take a bus from Hobart to Mount Field National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you can either walk to the Visitor Centre or take a taxi to the Shoobridge Track entrance. From the entrance, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along the track to reach the Octopus Tree. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
