From Sydney Central Station, take the T1 North Shore Line train towards Hornsby. Alight at the station 'Lindfield'. From Lindfield station, exit and walk to the bus stop on Lindfield Avenue. Catch the 587 bus towards 'Mona Vale' and get off at the stop 'Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park'. From the bus stop, it is a short walk (approximately 1.5 km) to the entrance of The Basin track.

Once you arrive at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, follow the signs to The Basin track. The track leads you through beautiful bushland to the Basin campsite area, which is a scenic spot perfect for picnics and relaxation. If you wish to explore Mackerel track, it branches off from The Basin track. Follow the marked trail signs for Mackerel track, which will take you to stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
