Car
If you are traveling by car, the best way to reach Tarraleah Falls is to head towards the Central Highlands region of Tasmania. From Hobart, take the A10 (Midland Highway) north for about 1.5 hours until you reach Oatlands. At Oatlands, turn onto the A5 (Lyell Highway) heading west. Continue on this road for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes until you reach the small township of Tarraleah. Once in Tarraleah, follow the signs to Tarraleah Falls, which will be a short drive from the main road. There is no entry fee for accessing the falls.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can take a bus from Hobart to Launceston. The company Tassielink offers services that connect Hobart to various towns. From Launceston, you will need to find a bus that goes to Tarraleah, as direct routes may not be available. It is advisable to check the Tassielink website for current schedules and routes. After arriving in Tarraleah, the falls are within walking distance from the town center, but be prepared for a bit of a hike. Wear appropriate footwear and carry water, as the trek can be steep in some areas.
