Car
If you are traveling by car, start from any location in Western New South Wales and make your way to the M1 Pacific Motorway. Follow the signs to Sydney. Once you reach the Sydney area, take the exit towards Pittwater Rd/Austinmer. Continue on Pittwater Rd until you reach Palm Beach. Turn onto Barrenjoey Rd and follow it until you arrive at 1199D Barrenjoey Rd, Palm Beach NSW 2108. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may have parking fees.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from your location in Western New South Wales to Sydney Central Station. From there, transfer to the train line heading towards the Northern Beaches (the L90 bus is a good option). Get off at the Palm Beach terminus. From the bus stop, walk along Barrenjoey Rd towards 1199D Barrenjoey Rd, which is the location of Barrenjoey Lighthouse. The walk is approximately 25 minutes along scenic paths.
Hiking
For an adventurous option, you can hike to Barrenjoey Lighthouse. If you drive to Palm Beach, park your car and start at the Barrenjoey Headland trailhead. The hike is approximately 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) and will take around 30 to 40 minutes. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the coastline. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry water and snacks for the hike.
