Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Matrei in Osttirol. Head west on the B108 highway toward the village of Virgen. Once you reach Virgen, follow the signs to the Tschadin Horn trailhead, which is located at the trailhead parking area. The coordinates for the parking area are approximately 46.9923° N, 12.7089° E. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around €5 for a day.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train to Matrei in Osttirol. From Matrei, you can catch a local bus (Bus number 442) that heads towards Virgen. Get off at the Virgen stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to the Tschadin Horn trailhead. Be sure to check the local bus schedule as services may vary, especially on weekends and holidays.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the Tschadin Horn trailhead, prepare for a hike. The trail to Tschadin Horn is well marked and may take about 2-3 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks for the journey. The trail can be steep and rocky in sections, so tread carefully and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
