Travel Guide to Museum St. Peter Salzburg

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Mirabell Palace, head east toward Mirabellplatz. From there, walk straight across the bridge, known as the Makartsteg, which offers a lovely view of the Salzach River. Once you reach the other side, continue straight onto the Getreidegasse, one of Salzburg's most famous shopping streets. Keep walking until you reach the junction at Residenzplatz. Turn left onto Residenzplatz, and the Museum St. Peter will be located at Residenzplatz 1, right next to the Cathedral.

• Walking

  If you are at the Salzburg Train Station (Salzburg Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and turn left onto Bayerhamerstraße. Walk straight until you reach the junction with Schwarzstraße. Turn right and continue straight onto Linzer Gasse. Cross the Salzach River via the Rudolfskai bridge. After crossing the bridge, take the first left onto Getreidegasse. Walk until you reach Residenzplatz, where you will find Museum St. Peter located at Residenzplatz 1, just beside the Cathedral.

• Walking

  If you are in the Old Town area (Altstadt), make your way to the Cathedral (Dom) located at Domplatz. From the Cathedral, walk to Residenzplatz, which is directly adjacent. Museum St. Peter is situated at Residenzplatz 1, just a short walk away from the Cathedral, easily visible as you approach the square.

• Public Transport

  If you prefer public transport, take bus line 1, 2, or 3 from any stop in Salzburg that serves these lines. Get off at the stop 'Residenzplatz' and walk towards the square. The Museum St. Peter will be located at Residenzplatz 1, right next to the Cathedral.
