Getting There

  • Subway

    From the center of Vienna, you can take the U1 subway line. Start at the Stephansplatz station, which is near St. Stephen's Cathedral. Board the U1 train heading towards Reumannplatz. After just one stop, get off at the Karlsplatz station. From Karlsplatz, transfer to the U2 line towards Taborstraße and get off at the next stop, which is the Museumquartier. Exit the station and walk towards the Ringstrasse. Continue walking straight until you reach Hohermarkt, which is a short distance away.

  • Tram

    If you're near the Ringstraße, you can take tram line 1 or 2. Board either tram in the direction of Schwedenplatz. Get off at the Schwedenplatz stop. From there, walk east along the Radetzkyplatz until you reach Hohermarkt, which is approximately a 5-minute walk. Look for the signs pointing to the town square.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Innere Stadt (the first district), you can easily walk to Hohermarkt. Start from the Graben, a popular shopping street. Walk north until you reach the junction with Stock-im-Eisen-Platz. From Stock-im-Eisen-Platz, head east and continue straight until you reach Hohermarkt. It should take about 10 minutes on foot.

    You can also take bus line 2A. Board the bus at any stop along its route towards Schwedenplatz. Get off at the Schwedenplatz stop, then walk east along the Radetzkyplatz for about 5 minutes until you arrive at Hohermarkt.
