    From Tarvisio, follow the SS54 highway towards Slovenia. After a few kilometers, turn off towards Laghi di Fusine. Be prepared to pay a toll fee of €5 for cars to access the road leading to the lakes. Continue driving until you reach the parking area near Lago di Fusine Superiore. Parking is included in the entrance fee.

    Take a local bus from Tarvisio to Laghi di Fusine, especially during the summer season. The bus will drop you off near Lago Superiore di Fusine. A bus ticket from Tarvisio to the lakes costs approximately €2-€4. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the lake.

Laghi di Fusine, comprising Lago di Fusine Superiore (Upper Lake) and Lago di Fusine Inferiore (Lower Lake), are celebrated as one of the most beautiful examples of alpine lakes. Situated in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, close to both the Slovenian and Austrian borders, these lakes are easily accessible and offer a variety of activities for nature lovers. The lakes owe their origin to the last glacial period, with the melting glaciers carving out the basins they now occupy. Lago di Fusine Superiore sits at an altitude of 929 meters, with a depth of 10 meters, while Lago di Fusine Inferiore is slightly lower at 924 meters, but deeper at 25 meters. The upper lake feeds the lower lake via an underground channel. The surrounding area is protected as the Lake Fusine Nature Park since 1971. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks around the lakes, with trails offering picturesque viewpoints. The trail around Lago di Fusine Superiore is approximately 2 km and takes about 45 minutes to complete. Lago di Fusine Inferiore offers equally stunning views, with a path that meanders through the woods along the shoreline.
