Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Thimphu, head towards the main street, Norzin Lam. Walk straight until you reach the Tashi Chho Dzong, a prominent landmark. From there, take a left onto the road leading out of Thimphu. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the roundabout in Chuzom, where you will see the confluence of the Thimphu and Paro rivers. Follow the signs for Paro, which will lead you onto the main highway. Walk along this route for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach the Paro Airport Bird's Eye View Point, located just off the main road. Look for a small path leading up to the viewpoint on your right.

  • Bus

    From the Thimphu bus station, take a local bus heading to Paro. Buses are frequent, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at the Paro Airport Bird's Eye View Point. Once you arrive, walk back a few meters along the road until you find the path leading up to the viewpoint on your left. It's a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Bicycle

    If you're comfortable cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Thimphu. Start from the clock tower square and head towards the main street, Norzin Lam. Follow the same route as if you were walking, passing Tashi Chho Dzong and continuing towards Chuzom. The ride will take about 40 minutes. Once at the roundabout, continue on the main highway towards Paro. After cycling for about 1.5 hours, look for the small path on your right that leads to the Paro Airport Bird's Eye View Point.
