The Calçadão da Asa Norte, opened in July 2011, is a recreational space designed by Diego Elói, covering an area of 22,000m². It embodies Lúcio Costa's vision of public access to Lake Paranoá's shores. The promenade features plazas, a wooden deck, an anchorage, a children's playground, a walking circuit, fitness equipment, and parking. Located at the end of Asa Norte, near the Bragueto Bridge, the Calçadão is easily accessible by car, bus (Via L2 Norte, Eixo L), and bicycle. It's a prime location for fishing and water sports, with kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals available. Visitors can also enjoy the sunset views across the lake towards the residential area of Lago Norte. The promenade includes a pier stretching almost 1 km, a playground, and a community meeting point with exercise equipment. Public restrooms are also available. The creation of Lake Paranoá was initially suggested in 1894 to moderate the climate and beautify the future capital. Today, the lake is surrounded by leisure areas, clubs, residences, and hotels.
