Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Serra dos Órgãos National Park, head southeast on BR-116 towards Rio de Janeiro. After approximately 55 kilometers, take the exit toward Avenida Brasil (BR-040) and follow the signs to Centro. Merge onto Avenida Brasil and then take the exit toward Rua do Catete. Continue straight to stay on Rua do Catete, which will turn into Rua do Lavradio. Follow this road until you reach Av. Rio Branco. The Federal Justice Cultural Center will be located at Av. Rio Branco, 241 in Centro, Rio de Janeiro. Parking may be available nearby, but expect to pay for parking fees.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Serra dos Órgãos National Park, you can take a bus to the city of Petrópolis. There are several bus companies operating in the area. After arriving at the bus terminal in Petrópolis, look for a bus that goes directly to Rio de Janeiro. Once you arrive at the Novo Rio Bus Station in Rio, you can take a taxi or a local bus toward Centro. Make sure to ask the driver or check the bus route to ensure it stops near Av. Rio Branco. The Federal Justice Cultural Center is located at Av. Rio Branco, 241. Bus fares vary, so be prepared with cash or a transport card.

• Public Transportation - Train/Metro

  If you prefer to use the train, you can take a bus from Serra dos Órgãos National Park to the nearby city of Teresópolis and then catch a train from there to Rio de Janeiro. Once you arrive at the train station in Rio, you can transfer to the metro. Take the metro Line 1 (the orange line) toward Uruguai and get off at the Cinelândia station. From there, it’s just a short walk to the Federal Justice Cultural Center located at Av. Rio Branco, 241. Be sure to check the train and metro schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.
