Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Rio de Janeiro. Take BR-116 (Rodovia Presidente Dutra) towards Petrópolis. After approximately 50 km, take the exit toward Guapimirim. Follow the signs towards Serra dos Órgãos National Park. Once in Guapimirim, look for the entrance to the park, which is well-marked. Once you enter the park, proceed to the visitor center for maps and information. From the visitor center, follow the trail signs for 'Pedra do Sino'. The drive to the park entrance is about 1.5 hours, and there may be a parking fee at the entrance, which is typically around R$ 20.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the Terminal Rodoviário do Rio de Janeiro to Guapimirim. Buses run regularly and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Guapimirim, you can either take a taxi or walk to the entrance of Serra dos Órgãos National Park, which is approximately 3 km from the bus station. At the park entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee (around R$ 20). After entering the park, head to the visitor center to get a map, and then follow the well-marked trails to reach Pedra do Sino.

• Hiking

  From the visitor center in Serra dos Órgãos National Park, embark on the hike to Pedra do Sino. The trail is well-marked and takes approximately 4 to 6 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace. The trail is steep and can be challenging, so ensure you are well-prepared with water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear. Follow the signs for 'Pedra do Sino' and enjoy the breathtaking views along the way. Remember to take your time and enjoy the natural beauty of the park.
