From most parts of Rio de Janeiro, take a bus to the Jardim Botânico neighborhood. Bus lines such as 109, 309, 409, 439, 538, 548, and 583 will drop you off near Parque Lage. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the park entrance. A single bus fare costs approximately R$5. Alternatively, take the Metrô Rio subway to Botafogo station (Line 1). Transfer to a bus (lines 511 or 583) heading to Parque Lage. Ensure you ask for “metro na superficie” when buying the tickets to pay only once for the metro and metrobus.

Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are readily available throughout Rio de Janeiro. A ride from Copacabana to Parque Lage typically costs around R$17-R$65 and takes approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to take you to Parque Lage at Rua Jardim Botânico, 414.

If you are near Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas or Ipanema, consider walking to Parque Lage. The walk from Ipanema takes about an hour and is generally safe. From the Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden), it's a short walk to Parque Lage. Note: Entrance to Parque Lage is free.
