What sets this church apart are the paintings depicting sailors, fishermen, rough seas, anchors, and St. Nicholas, reflecting Varna's strong maritime heritage. In fact, Saint Nicholas Church is Bulgaria's only maritime temple, confirmed after an icon was taken to the Holy Sepulchre and returned consecrated in 1927. Today, Saint Nicholas Church remains an active place of worship, offering a serene retreat from the bustling city.
