If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Smolyan, which is approximately 95 km from Dospat Reservoir. Head east on the E80 highway towards Dospat. After about 30 km, take the exit towards Dospat (follow signs for 37). Continue on the road for another 25 km until you reach the town of Dospat. Once in Dospat, follow the signs to the reservoir, which is located just a few kilometers from the center of the town. Parking is available near the reservoir.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Smolyan to Dospat. The bus station in Smolyan is located near the town center. Buses to Dospat run several times a day; make sure to check the schedule for exact times. The journey takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, and tickets cost approximately 5 BGN. Once you arrive in Dospat, you can either walk to the reservoir (about 3 km from the bus station) or take a local taxi if you prefer not to walk.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from either Smolyan or Dospat. Taxis in the area are relatively affordable, with fares from Smolyan to Dospat averaging around 40-50 BGN, depending on the time of day and driver. Ensure to agree on the fare beforehand if the taxi does not have a meter.
