If you are driving from Praia de Chaves, start by heading east on the main road (the EN1-SV01). Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach a fork. At the fork, take the left road (the EN1-SV02) towards Santa Maria. Continue on this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will pass by some local shops and residential areas. Keep an eye out for the sign for 'Reserva Natural de Costa da Fragata' and turn left when you see it. Follow the unnamed road for about 1 kilometer, and you will arrive at the entrance of the reserve. Parking is available on-site, but please be aware that there may be a small fee for parking.

Public Transportation
To reach Reserva Natural de Costa da Fragata via public transport, start by taking a local 'aluguer' (shared taxi) from Praia de Chaves to Santa Maria. The fare is usually around 2-3 CVE (Cape Verdean Escudo) per person. Once you arrive in Santa Maria, ask the driver to drop you off at the main road leading towards the nature reserve. From there, you can either walk (it’s about a 20-minute walk) or take another 'aluguer' to the entrance of the reserve.
