From Praia city center, head to the main bus terminal located near the market (Mercado Municipal). Look for a bus heading towards Assomada. Buses to Assomada leave frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to Serra Malagueta Natural Park. Once you reach Assomada, you will need to take a shared taxi (known locally as 'Aluguer') to the entrance of the park. The taxi ride will take about 15-20 minutes.

Shared Taxi (Aluguer)
After arriving in Assomada, go to the Aluguer stop, which is usually near the bus terminal. Look for a shared taxi heading towards Ribeira Principal or Serra Malagueta. These taxis are often waiting for passengers and will leave once they are full. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Make sure to tell the driver your destination so they can drop you off at the entrance of the park.

If you are in Assomada and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route to the park entrance. From the center of Assomada, head north towards the main road. Follow the signs to Ribeira Principal. The walk will take around 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. The landscape is beautiful, so enjoy the views along the way. It's a good idea to ask locals for additional directions if needed.
