BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
From Berkeley, head to the nearest BART station, which is the Downtown Berkeley station. Once there, purchase a ticket to the Montgomery Street station in San Francisco (the fare is approximately $10). Take the train in the direction of San Francisco International Airport. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive at Montgomery Street station. From the station, exit onto Montgomery Street and head southwest towards 3rd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art will be on your left at 151 3rd St.

Take the AC Transit bus line 1 or 1R from any stop along University Avenue in Berkeley. Make sure to get off at the 'Transbay Terminal' stop in San Francisco. Once you arrive at the terminal, walk towards Howard Street and turn left. Continue walking until you reach 3rd Street. Turn right on 3rd Street, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art will be at 151 3rd St, just a short walk away.
