Start at the Carmel Plaza located at 2 Dolores St, Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA 93921. Exit the plaza and head northwest on Dolores St towards 7th Ave. Turn left onto 7th Ave and continue walking until you reach San Carlos St. Turn right onto San Carlos St, then take a left onto Ocean Ave. Follow Ocean Ave until you reach the intersection with Scenic Rd. At this point, continue straight onto Scenic Rd, which will lead you along the coast with beautiful ocean views. Keep walking until you reach Carmelo St, where you will take a right. Continue walking until you reach 26478 Carmelo St, which is the entrance to Carmel River State Beach.

Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Start at the bike shop and head towards Ocean Ave. Cycle along Ocean Ave until you reach Scenic Rd, where you will turn left. Follow Scenic Rd while enjoying the ocean views, and then take a right onto Carmelo St. Continue biking down Carmelo St until you reach the entrance at 26478 Carmelo St, Carmel River State Beach.

From the Carmel-by-the-Sea city center, catch the Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus route 1. You can board the bus at stops near the Carmel Plaza or other designated bus stops. Ride the bus towards the Carmel Valley and request a stop at the nearest stop to Carmel River State Beach. Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you to the beach, which will involve a short walk down to Carmelo St and then to the entrance at 26478 Carmelo St.
