Getting There

  • Ferry

    If you're starting from Coronado, head towards the Coronado Ferry Landing, located at 1201 1st St, Coronado, CA 92118. You can walk there by heading south on Orange Ave until you reach 1st St, then turn left. At the Ferry Landing, purchase a ticket for the ferry to San Diego. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes and provides beautiful views of the bay. Upon arrival at the San Diego downtown ferry terminal, you will be approximately 2.5 miles away from Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

  • Public Transit

    After disembarking from the ferry at the San Diego terminal, walk to the nearest bus stop. You can take the MTS Bus Route 5 from the 'Broadway & Pacific Hwy' stop. Get off at 'Old Town Transit Center' (approximately 10 stops). From there, it's just a short 5-minute walk to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Follow the signs for Old Town, and you will arrive at the park located at the corner of San Diego Avenue and Twiggs St.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops near the Coronado Ferry Landing. After renting a bike, take the ferry to San Diego as mentioned earlier. Once you arrive at the San Diego terminal, ride your bike up West Harbor Dr, then take a left on Pacific Hwy. Continue on Pacific Hwy until you reach the Old Town area, where you can find Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

    For those who enjoy walking, after taking the ferry to San Diego, you can walk to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. From the ferry terminal, head north along the waterfront, then turn right onto Broadway. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with San Diego Avenue. Turn left onto San Diego Avenue and walk until you reach Twiggs St. The park will be on your left at the intersection.
