Public Transit
Start at Hayward BART Station located at 699 B St, Hayward, CA 94541. Board a Richmond-bound BART train. The journey will take approximately 35 minutes. Get off at the Civic Center Station in San Francisco. Once you exit the station, walk towards the intersection of McAllister St and Larkin St. From there, catch the Muni bus number 5 (Fulton) heading west. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes, and disembark at the stop for 9th Ave and Lincoln Way. The San Francisco Botanical Garden is directly across the street from the bus stop at 1199 9th Ave.

Walking
If you prefer to walk from the Civic Center BART Station, exit the station and head west on McAllister St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Scott St, then turn left. Walk along Scott St until you reach Golden Gate Park. Enter the park and follow the paths leading towards the western side. The San Francisco Botanical Garden will be on your left as you approach 9th Ave. This walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
