From downtown Martinez, head north on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Ferry Street. Turn right onto Ferry Street and continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles. You will reach the waterfront area. From there, walk along the waterfront path until you get to the Martinez Marina. Once at the marina, follow the signs leading to the Bear Flag Monument, which is located near the water's edge.

Start at the Martinez Amtrak station. Board the County Connection Bus #16 towards the Martinez Transit Center. Get off at the stop on Main St. at Ferry St. From there, walk north on Main Street, then turn right onto Ferry Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the waterfront. Follow the waterfront path to the Martinez Marina, and look for signs directing you to the Bear Flag Monument.
