Public Transit
Start at the Redwood City Caltrain Station. Take the Caltrain northbound towards San Francisco. Get off at the San Carlos Station, which is just a few stops away. From the San Carlos Station, walk to the nearest bus stop on the corner of San Carlos Avenue and El Camino Real. Board the SamTrans bus route 260 towards Half Moon Bay. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop for Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. From there, follow the signs leading into the preserve which is a short walk from the bus stop.

Biking
If you prefer biking, start in downtown Redwood City. Head west on Broadway Street towards the bay. Turn left on El Camino Real and continue south. After about 3 miles, turn right onto Woodside Road (CA-84). Follow Woodside Road for about 5 miles until you reach the entrance of Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. There are bike racks available at the entrance.

Although walking all the way to Purisima Creek from Redwood City is quite a long trek, you can start by walking to the San Carlos Caltrain Station. From there, follow the public transit instructions to take the Caltrain to San Carlos and then board the SamTrans bus route 260 to reach the preserve.
