Getting There

    From the Catalina Island ferry terminal in Avalon, walk inland along Crescent Avenue. Turn left onto Catalina Avenue, then right onto Tremont Street. Continue onto Avalon Canyon Road. The Hermit Gulch Campground and trailhead will be on your right, just before Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden. Follow the Hermit Gulch Trail uphill to the lookout. The walk from the ferry terminal to the trailhead is approximately 1.5 miles. COAST, Avalon's on-demand public transportation, is available for $2 per rider and can shorten the walk. Taxis are also available from the ferry terminal, with fares starting at $5.95 plus $1.60 per minute. A $3 road maintenance fee and a fuel surcharge may apply.

    From the Catalina Island ferry terminal, use the COAST on-demand public transportation service. Download the 'Ride Circuit' app to request a ride to the Hermit Gulch Campground. From the campground, follow the Hermit Gulch Trail uphill to the lookout. The fare is $2 per rider. COAST operates from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
