To reach Filoli Historic House & Garden from Union City, start by walking to the nearest bus stop for AC Transit bus line 97, located near Union Landing shopping area. Take the bus towards the Fremont BART station. Once you arrive at the Fremont BART station, transfer to the BART train heading towards Millbrae. Get off at the Hillsdale station. From Hillsdale, you can catch SamTrans bus line 292 towards Woodside. Get off at the stop closest to Cañada Road. Walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Cañada Road until you reach 86 Cañada Rd, where Filoli is located.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in Union City. Start your ride by heading south on Union City Blvd towards Decoto Rd. Turn left onto Decoto Rd and follow it until you reach the intersection with I-880. Cross the freeway and continue onto Mission Blvd. Follow Mission Blvd until you reach the intersection with Woodside Rd. Turn left on Woodside Rd, and then take a right onto Cañada Rd. Continue straight for about 1 mile, and you will find Filoli Historic House & Garden at 86 Cañada Rd.

If you are close to the Union City Library, you can start your walk from there. Head west on Decoto Rd, and then turn left at Union City Blvd. Follow Union City Blvd until you reach the intersection with Mission Blvd. Cross Mission Blvd carefully and continue straight onto Woodside Rd. Walk north for about 2 miles until you reach Cañada Rd. Turn right on Cañada Rd and walk another 0.5 miles to reach Filoli at 86 Cañada Rd.
