Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops around Siem Reap, particularly near Pub Street or the Old Market. Head northwest on Street 9 towards the river, then continue straight onto Road 6. Keep cycling until you reach the intersection with Road 63. Turn left onto Road 63 and continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach French Dam. This route is scenic and takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Walking to French Dam is not the most common option due to the distance, but if you're up for a challenge, you can start from Pub Street. Walk northwest towards the river, then continue on Street 9 until you hit Road 6. From there, head northwest on Road 6 for about 4 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Road 63, turn left and continue until you arrive at French Dam. This journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so ensure you have enough water and wear comfortable shoes.
