Getting There

  • Walking

    From Hintonburg, start at the corner of Wellington Street West and Parkdale Avenue. Head south on Parkdale Avenue until you reach the intersection with the Ottawa River Parkway. Turn left and walk east along the Ottawa River Parkway. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Prince of Wales Drive. Here, you will see the entrance to the Dominion Arboretum on your right. The total walking time is approximately 25 minutes.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Hintonburg. Start at the corner of Wellington Street West and Parkdale Avenue and head south on Parkdale Avenue. Turn left onto the Ottawa River Parkway and continue cycling east. Once you reach Prince of Wales Drive, turn right where you will see the entrance to the Dominion Arboretum. The cycling distance is about 3 kilometers, taking around 10-15 minutes.

    To reach Dominion Arboretum via public transit, take the OC Transpo bus route 14 from Hintonburg. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Wellington Street West. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop near the Ottawa River Parkway and Prince of Wales Drive. From there, it’s a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the entrance of the Dominion Arboretum. A one-way fare on OC Transpo is around CAD 3.50.
