Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Sendero Sierra Nevada from Temuco, take Route 5 (Pan-American Highway) south towards Pucón. After about 50 kilometers, take the exit towards Route 199 towards Melipeuco. Continue on Route 199 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Parque Nacional Conguillio, where Sendero Sierra Nevada is located. Note that there is an entrance fee to the park, which is around 5,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos) per person.

  • Public Transportation

    From Temuco, you can take a bus to Melipeuco. Buses leave from the main terminal (Terminal de Buses de Temuco) and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Melipeuco, you can either walk or take a taxi to Parque Nacional Conguillio. The park entrance is about 15 kilometers from the town, so a taxi might cost around 15,000 to 20,000 CLP.
