Car
If you are driving, start by heading southeast on Route 5 towards La Serena. After about 30 kilometers, take the exit for Route D-41 toward Vicuña. Follow Route D-41 for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach Vicuña. Once in Vicuña, continue on Route D-445 towards Hurtado. After about 17 kilometers on Route D-445, you will see the Observatorio del Pangue on your right-hand side, at km 17. Please ensure you have a map or GPS device for precise navigation.

To reach Observatorio del Pangue using public transportation, start by taking a bus from La Serena to Vicuña. Several bus companies operate on this route, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Vicuña, you will need to take a taxi or a local bus heading towards Hurtado. Inform the driver that you want to go to Observatorio del Pangue, and they will drop you off at km 17 on Route D-445. Be prepared for a taxi fare that might range from 5,000 to 10,000 CLP depending on the distance and time of day.
