Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Armenia, head to the main bus terminal, Terminal de Transportes de Armenia. Look for a bus heading to Cajamarca; several companies operate this route. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Cajamarca, ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop for Cañon del río Tochecito. This will be in the vicinity of GGWC+5C. From there, you can ask locals for directions or look for signs indicating the hiking path to the canyon.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Mototaxi)

  After arriving in Cajamarca, consider taking a mototaxi for a more direct route to Cañon del río Tochecito. You can find mototaxis at the bus stop or nearby. Inform the driver you want to go to GGWC+5C, and they will take you as close as possible to the entrance of the canyon. The ride should be relatively inexpensive and will save you some walking.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from the Cajamarca bus station, you can head southeast on Avenida 6 towards Calle 12. Continue straight until you reach the main road leading to the canyon. The hike to Cañon del río Tochecito can take about an hour, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trail may not be well marked.
