Getting There

  From Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, head northeast on the road toward the town of Santa Marta. Once you reach the main highway (Route 90), continue until you see signs for Palomino. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to keep an eye out for signs directing you to Palomino, as the beach is located just off the main road. There is usually a parking area available near the beach, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking, typically around 5,000 to 10,000 COP.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Playa Palomino via public transportation, start by heading to the main bus terminal in Santa Marta. Look for a bus that is heading to Palomino or Dibulla; these buses usually depart frequently. The fare is typically around 10,000 to 15,000 COP. The journey will take around 2 to 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Palomino, you may need to walk a short distance to the beach, following signs or asking locals for directions. The beach is well-known, so it should be easy to find.

  As an alternative to the bus, you can opt for a shared taxi from Santa Marta to Palomino. These taxis can be found at various points in the city, including the airport and major hotels. The cost for a shared taxi is typically around 25,000 COP per person, and the ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand if you're traveling with a group to avoid any surprises. The taxi will drop you off close to the beach.
