Car
From the South Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, take the East Portal Road (County Road 204) out of the park. Follow this road to the intersection with Highway 50. Turn right onto Highway 50 westbound and continue for about 2 miles. Look for County Road 30, also known as Hartman Rocks Road, on your left. Turn left onto County Road 30 and follow the signs for Hartman Rocks Recreation Area. The drive is approximately 20 minutes and the total distance is about 12 miles.
