Explore the Scenic Trails of Grizzly Creek Trailhead

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Glenwood Springs Amtrak Station located at 413 7th St, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601. From the station, head east on 7th St toward Grand Ave. Continue straight onto the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Colorado River. Once across the bridge, turn right onto Grand Ave. Walk south for about 0.2 miles until you reach the Glenwood Springs City Market on your left. This is a good place to stock up on snacks or water for your hike.

• Public Transit

  From City Market, take the Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) bus. Board the bus on the stop located near the entrance of City Market. You will want to take the bus that heads towards Aspen. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Grizzly Creek Trailhead stop. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Make sure to check the RFTA website or app for the latest schedule and fares.

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Glenwood Springs. From downtown, head east on 6th St until it becomes the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path. Follow the bike path along the Colorado River. Continue on this scenic route for about 5 miles, which will lead you directly to the Grizzly Creek Trailhead. The trailhead is located just off the bike path, where you'll see signs for parking and access to the trail.

• Hiking

  For the more adventurous, you can hike from downtown Glenwood Springs to the Grizzly Creek Trailhead. Start at the Glenwood Springs Public Library at 413 9th St. Head east on 9th St, then take a left onto Midland Ave. Continue until you reach the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path. Follow the bike path for about 5 miles, which will lead you to the Grizzly Creek Trailhead. This option is a longer trek but offers beautiful views along the way.
