Discover more about Grizzly Creek Trailhead

Grizzly Creek Trailhead provides access to a trail that meanders alongside Grizzly Creek, a tributary of the Colorado River, within the stunning Glenwood Canyon. This trail offers a more relaxed and less crowded alternative to the popular Hanging Lake Trail, making it ideal for those seeking a tranquil natural experience. The trail itself is an out-and-back hike that follows the creek, treating hikers to views of towering cliffs and lush vegetation. The initial section of the trail is relatively easy, making it suitable for families and casual hikers. As you venture further, the trail becomes narrower and a bit more challenging, with some rocky sections. While the Grizzly Creek Fire in 2020 impacted the area, the trail has since been undergoing reconstruction. Hikers should be aware of potential hazards such as hazard trees, falling rocks, and the possibility of flash flooding, especially in the burned areas. Despite the fire's impact, the trail remains a beautiful and rewarding experience for those who appreciate the outdoors.
