Driving
From the Great Sand Dunes National Park visitor center, head east on US-150. Turn south onto CO-150 and continue for approximately 6 miles. Turn east onto County Road 6N, also known as Zapata Falls Road, a well-maintained dirt road. Follow this road for about 3 miles to the Zapata Falls Trailhead parking area. Parking is free but can be limited during peak season. From the parking area, it's a short, easy walk to the falls.

From the Zapata Falls Campground, the trailhead is a short walk away. Follow the signs from your campsite to the trailhead. The walk to the falls from the trailhead is less than half a mile and should take no more than 15-20 minutes. Be prepared to walk in shallow water to view the falls.
