There are no fees to access the trail, as it is within the national park. Parking is available at the campground.

    If arriving by car from Mosca, CO, head east on US-160 E, then turn north onto CO-150 N. Follow CO-150 N to the entrance of Great Sand Dunes National Park. Continue to the Piñon Flats Campground and park in the designated areas. From the parking area, follow the signs to the Wellington Ditch Trail. The entrance fee for Great Sand Dunes National Park is $25 per vehicle, valid for 7 days. Parking at the campground is included with the park entrance fee.
