From Gillette Castle State Park, exit the park and turn left onto CT-82 W. Continue for approximately 4.5 miles until you reach the intersection with CT-9 S. Merge onto CT-9 S and follow the signs for Middletown. After about 10 miles, take exit 3 toward CT-154 S/Essex. Merge onto CT-154 S and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Main St in Essex. Turn right onto Main St, then take a left onto Railroad Ave. The Essex Steam Train & Riverboat will be located on your right at 1 Railroad Ave, Essex, CT 06426.
