Subway
From any location in Greenwich, head to the nearest Metro-North train station, which is the Greenwich Station. Board a train on the New Haven Line heading toward Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The train journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central Terminal, follow the signs to the subway. Take the 7 train (Flushing Local) one stop to Times Square-42nd Street. At Times Square, switch to the 1 train (Broadway-Seventh Avenue Local) heading downtown. Get off at the Christopher Street station, which is closest to Greenwich Village.

Train and Walking
Make your way to the Greenwich Metro-North train station and take the New Haven Line towards New York City. Alight at Grand Central Terminal. From Grand Central, exit the station and walk towards 42nd Street. Head west toward 8th Avenue, then continue walking down 8th Avenue until you reach West 4th Street. Turn left onto West 4th Street and walk until you reach the heart of Greenwich Village, known for its vibrant atmosphere and historic streets.

Catch the Stamford or New Haven-bound bus from the Greenwich Bus Terminal. These buses frequently travel to New York City. You can get off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. From there, walk to 8th Avenue and take the subway (1 train) downtown to Christopher Street, which is in Greenwich Village. This option may take a bit longer but is a great way to see more of the area.
