Walking
Start at the Avarua town center, where you can find the Avarua Market. Head west along Ara Tapu Road, which runs along the coast. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Arorangi District. At this intersection, you will see the landmark of the Cook Islands Rugby Union field on your left. Turn left onto this road, and continue walking for another 20 minutes until you reach the base of Raemaru. Look for signs or locals to guide you towards the footpath leading up to the mountain peak.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start your journey in Avarua town center. Ride west along Ara Tapu Road, enjoying the coastal views. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the intersection with the road to Arorangi District. Turn left at this intersection, and continue biking for about 20 minutes. You will see the path leading to Raemaru on your right. Park your bicycle safely and follow the footpath up to the mountain peak.
Public Transport
From Avarua town center, look for a local bus heading towards Arorangi. Buses are usually marked with their destination. Board the bus and enjoy the ride for about 20-30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off near the Arorangi District. Once you disembark, follow the road on foot for about 10-15 minutes until you see the path leading up to Raemaru. It's advisable to ask locals for the best route to the footpath.
