Experience Te Vara Nui Village

Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Avarua, start on Ara Tapu road heading south. Walk straight for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Te Vara Nui Village. You will see signs directing you towards the village. Continue on Ara Tapu road for another 500 meters, and you will arrive at Te Vara Nui Village, located on your left side.

  • Bicycle

    If you're cycling, begin at the Avarua town center and head south on Ara Tapu road. Maintain a steady pace for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction leading towards Te Vara Nui. At the junction, keep following the signs for Te Vara Nui Village. After about 500 meters, you will see the entrance to the village on your left.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    In Avarua, locate the nearest bus stop that services the route to Rarotonga's southern beaches. Board the bus and inform the driver you wish to go to Te Vara Nui Village. The bus will take you along Ara Tapu road. Keep an eye on the signs, and when you see the entrance to Te Vara Nui Village, press the stop button to disembark. The village will be on your left.

    For a taxi, find a taxi stand in Avarua or use a local taxi service. Provide the driver with the destination ‘Te Vara Nui Village, Ara Tapu’. The driver will take you directly to the village, which is located about 2.5 kilometers south of Avarua.
