Getting There

Walking
Start from the Avatiu Harbour area. Head north towards the main road (Avatiu Road). Continue walking along Avatiu Road until you reach the intersection with Ara Tapu Road. This should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your pace. At the intersection, turn left onto Ara Tapu Road and follow it as it curves towards the west. Continue on this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach a small junction. Look for signs indicating the direction to Arorangi District. Turn right at the junction onto a smaller road and continue walking for another 10-15 minutes. You will start to notice the terrain changing as you approach Raemaru, which is marked by its prominent peak. Follow the signs and local directions towards Raemaru until you reach the base of the mountain.

Alternatively, if you are near the Avatiu Market, exit the market and head towards the road leading to the coast (Ara Tapu). Walk along the coast heading west. After about 20 minutes, you will reach the junction where you can take a left onto the main Ara Tapu Road. Follow the instructions from the previous guidance to Raemaru from this point.
