From the center of Avatiu, start walking towards the main road, Ara Tapu. Head southeast along the road for about 1.5 kilometers. As you walk, you'll pass by several local shops and eateries which can be great for a quick stop. Continue along Ara Tapu until you reach the sign for Te Vara Nui Village on your right side. The entrance is marked, and you will see the distinctive main building and beautiful gardens as you approach.

If you're renting a bicycle in Avatiu, head towards Ara Tapu by following the main road signs. Cycle southeast for about 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the route. Look for the sign for Te Vara Nui Village on your right. There is usually parking available for bicycles at the entrance.

You can catch a local bus from Avatiu heading towards Avarua. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you near Te Vara Nui Village, as the bus may not stop directly at the entrance. It’s about a 10-minute ride. After getting off, walk back a short distance down Ara Tapu until you see the entrance to Te Vara Nui Village on your right.
