Getting There

  • Bus

    From Avarua, take either the Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise bus. Both buses service the entire island, including the Takitumu District where Maire Nui Gardens is located. A one-way fare is NZ$5. Inform the driver of your destination for the nearest stop. The gardens are signposted along the main road (Ara Tapu).

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available throughout Rarotonga, but are not considered cheap. A taxi from Rarotonga Airport to Muri (close to the gardens) is approximately NZ$40. From Muri, it is a short taxi ride to Maire Nui Gardens. Expect to pay a minimum of NZ$15 for a short trip. Pre-booking is recommended.

  • Walking

    From the center of Muri, head northwest towards the main road (Ara Tapu). Walk along the road for about 15 minutes, passing shops and local eateries. Continue straight until you pass the roundabout. After the roundabout, keep walking for another 5 minutes. You will see Maire Nui Gardens and Cafe on your right side. The entrance is marked clearly with a sign.
