Walking
From the Avarua Market, head southeast on Ara Tapu (Main Road). Continue for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the hospital. Turn left onto this road and continue for approximately 1 kilometer. Look for signs indicating the path to Hospital Lookout. The trail begins at the end of the road; follow the walking trail uphill for about 15-20 minutes to reach the lookout point.

Public Transport
The Clockwise and Anti-Clockwise buses circle the island and stop along the main road. From Avarua, take either bus and alight near the hospital road in Nikao. From there, walk approximately 1 kilometer up the road leading to the hospital, following signs to Hospital Lookout. The trail begins at the end of the road. A single bus fare is approximately NZ$5.

Taxis are available in Avarua. A taxi from Avarua to the Hospital Lookout will cost approximately NZ$15, including the minimum fare. Confirm the rate with the driver before starting your journey. The taxi will drop you off at the base of the Hospital Hill track.
