Car
If you are driving from the town of Cahuita, head southeast on the main road (Route 36) towards the town of Puerto Viejo. After approximately 6 kilometers, you will reach the Los Laureles area. Look for signs leading to The Chocolate Forest, which is located on Caille, Limón. There is a parking area available at the site. The drive should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

Public Transportation
To reach The Chocolate Forest using public transportation, take a local bus from Cahuita to Puerto Viejo. Buses frequently depart from the main road near the Cahuita National Park entrance. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Los Laureles. The fare is usually around 500-800 CRC (Costa Rican Colón). Once you arrive at Los Laureles, you may need to walk a short distance (about 1 kilometer) to reach The Chocolate Forest. Follow local signs or ask for directions if needed.

If you are already in Cahuita National Park and prefer to walk, you can exit the park at the main entrance and head down Route 36 towards Puerto Viejo. After about 6 kilometers, you can turn onto the road leading to Los Laureles. This option may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
