    If you are driving from any location in the Osa Peninsula, head to the nearest major town, Puerto Jiménez. From there, take the Route 2 highway towards the town of Palmar Norte. Once you reach Palmar Norte, continue on Route 34 northbound until you reach the junction with Route 10. Follow Route 10, which will take you towards Turrialba. The park is located near Turrialba, so be sure to follow the signs to Parque Nacional Barbilla. The last stretch involves driving on a gravel road, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Please note that gasoline stations are limited, so fill up your tank before leaving Puerto Jiménez.
