Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Puerto Viejo, start at the main street (Calle 219) near the bus station. Head southeast on Calle 219 until you reach the intersection with Avenida 4. Turn left onto Avenida 4 and continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the fork in the road. At the fork, keep right onto the road that leads towards Punta Uva. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers, and you will start to see signs directing you towards Punta Uva Beach. Once you reach Punta Uva Beach, walk along the beach to the east until you reach the rocky outcrop. Cueva Punta Uva is located at the base of the cliffs on the right side of the beach.

• Biking

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle in Puerto Viejo. Start at the main street (Calle 219) and head southeast toward Avenida 4. Turn left onto Avenida 4 and continue biking for about 1 kilometer. At the fork, take the right road that leads to Punta Uva. Continue biking along this road for about 2 kilometers. Once you arrive at Punta Uva Beach, park your bike and walk along the beach to the east for about 500 meters. You will find Cueva Punta Uva at the base of the cliffs on the right.

• Public Transport

  To reach Cueva Punta Uva using public transport, head to the bus station in Puerto Viejo. Look for a bus heading to Manzanillo or Punta Uva, as both will stop near your destination. The bus ride should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off at Punta Uva, walk towards the beach. From the bus stop, walk east along the beach for about 500 meters until you reach the rocky area where Cueva Punta Uva is located.
